What I know about this guitar

  • My cousin and his wife found this in her grandmothers’ home in Independence, Virginia. No information or explanation found.

  • Harmony Blonde H62 Archtop, manufacture date unknown. The body height of 3 1/2” seems to put it between 1953-1959.

  • Note from an online Harmony database “2 pickups. Blonde model only in the catalogs but sunburst model exists and is not rare... New neck with truss rod in 1956. Body depth changes from 3 1/2" to 2 3/4" in 1960.”

  • Number inside of guitar 467E62. No other stamp, sticker or printed identification.

  • There are screw holes that seem to indicate the presence of a pick guard at one point. The white trussrod cover seems to indicate the missing pickguard was possibly white but I’ve found images online showing a Tortex pick guard with a white trussrod cover.

  • Two original black Bakelite knobs are in place, two are missing.

  • Have not yet tried to play through an amp, so not 100% sure of condition.
